For years, working as a leading publicist in entertainment PR, I watched who made it and who didn't. I studied the patterns in other publicists and in the actors, influencers, and authors I worked alongside. I also examined the managers and agents around them.
Just as importantly, I studied my own behaviors and career arc, too. There were seasons I stalled, not for lack of strategy, but because I let doubt in. I compared myself and my clients to others, and comparison is the thief of success. Energetically, it tells the universe, and your own subconscious, that there is not enough to go around. That mindset held me back for a long time.
The moment I stopped comparing and decided, without wavering, that I would reach my goals with grace and ease, everything shifted. We have all been taught that visibility is tactical: have the right bio, the right photos, garner press, learn the social media algorithms, create the digital sales funnels, get in the right rooms with powerful people, and for some people I work with, get on the red carpet in a fantastic outfit.
